Step into Discovery Cove and explore Alaska's coastal treasures
and encounter the unique marine animals that make Alaska's coastal
waters their home. Learn how these creatures are well adapted to
survive the stresses of the rough, wave-battered world! Some of
the hands-on, interactive exhibits in Discovery Cove include:
- The Investigation Station
~ Become an ocean explorer by examining marine animals
under a microscope.
- Marine Puppets
~ Play with a variety of Alaska marine life puppets!
- Tidal Pools ~
Discover the wonderful world of Alaska's tidal pools.
- Marine Touch Tank ~
Look and touch a variety of local Alaskan marine life including
starfish, sea cucumbers, hermit crabs and much more!
- Discover Plankton
~ Plankton are the building blocks of ocean life. Learn about
these tiny plants and animals that drift in ocean currents and
find out what their role is in marine life.
- Tide Pool Play
~ Play with model sea anenomes, fish and seastars.
