We believe science literacy is
increasingly vital to success in the society in which we live.
All members of the community are capable of, and benefit from,
increased science literacy through contact with The Imaginarium.
A single contact can stimulate interest; repeat contact begins
the process of understanding and sets the stage for life-long
learning. |

We believe the most effective means of learning is by doing,
so all our exhibits and programs should involve and challenge
the audience to participate. They should also be engaging, stimulating,
informative and fun. We should present science based on the
preponderance of current evidence, but recognize that challenging
today’s "truth" is the heart of scientific progress.

We believe that we should serve the entire state, including
its tourists, as well as people of all ages. Our audience, as
well as our board, staff and volunteers, should reflect the
diversity of our state. |
| 4. |
We believe the highest standard of ethical conduct, fiduciary
responsibility, and public stewardship should be reflected in
all our activities. We should not engage in partisan politics,
but have the responsibility to be a good institutional citizen
of our community. |

We believe our success is the result of the collective efforts
of many stakeholders in the community. We serve in a stewardship
role to pass the institution on to future generations as a vital
community asset. |
